After finally completing the wing assemblies, its time to move on to the fuselage. Here we see the unpacked fuselage crate with parts laid out on the hangar floor.

June 4, 2021

The fuselage assembly starts with building up the forward assemblies which are divided into floor assemblies forward and aft of the carry-through spars. Soon, these will be joined together with the side skins.

June 28, 2021

The side skin, drag fitting and crossbar installation on the two forward fuselage halves completes the lower fuselage.

This was also a good time for an upgrade to the canopy latch— the flush mount JD Latch combined with an added lock.

July 12, 2021

The tailcone, completed a year ago, now gets attached to the forward fuselage lower assembly with the help of a wooden frame on jack bolts.  Numerous rivets complete the attachment.

August 24, 2021

Installation of baggage floors comes next, followed by the installation of fuselage systems including rudder pedals, brake lines and fuel lines.

September 22, 2021

Installation of systems continues with fuselage forward structure, flap motor, canopy release system and fresh air vents.

October 14, 2021

Fuselage structural assembly finishes with the installation of the roll bar and one more temporay installation of the tail surfaces to check elevator and rudder travels. Now, on to the canopy and rear window…
